Grateful Heart

Provoking my thoughts was something I read the other day: “Wake up each morning with a Grateful Heart” !

I am grateful for many things, but especially the road that art has taken me on. A poetic perspective of life’s many profound magical moments. Often referencing South African landscapes, its people and my experiences, paint and brush has given me the opportunity not only to record my own perspectives but also to enjoy other artists works, with a total appreciation of their endeavours, talent, and expression.

Diverse subject matter, varied techniques, periods in time, ambitious and adventurous endeavours in creativity, engage me in many hours of art book and online browsing. This love is I am assured shared by fellow artists, in all their stages of learning. One thing I have come to understand is that the learning process never ends, and although the final product might not reflect my initial thought, nothing is lost and so much is gained…. even in my “failed” endeavour!
