This beautiful original oil painting by South African artist Shirley Howells is titled "West Coast Beauty". It captures the timeless charm of a West Coast fishing village with its iconic whitewashed thatched-roof cottages, sandy streets, and warm, atmospheric light.

In the foreground, local figures go about their daily activities near boats and simple structures, while the expansive background reveals rolling fields and distant purple mountains under a soft, colourful sky. Painted in an expressive impressionistic style with rich, textured brushwork, the piece glows with golden earth tones, warm whites, and vibrant sky colours — perfectly evoking the serene beauty and unique character of South Africa’s West Coast.
